Guide to trying out for an ASBA Fall Team:
Pre Event:
- Check you son’s league age (Chart below will help you determine your son’s league age for the fall)
- Complete the registration form on the link below and submit. Players will only be able to tryout for the selected Primary and Secondary positions.
- You are only required to attend one day of tryouts unless otherwise asked by ASBA staff
- Should you not be able to make either tryout, all evaluations must be completed prior to the
final tryout date of your age group. Contact your local facility at the above numbers to
schedule a workout in July.
Event Day:
- Please arrive 15-25 minutes prior to your scheduled tryout time to check in at the front desk. After checking in all players and parents should congregate in the lobby.
- Coaches will warm players up and begin the tryout process while a staff member talks to all parents in the lobby.
- Once a player has completed his portion of the workout they will be able to leave. Pitchers and Catchers should be prepared to stay the longest.
Post Event:
- Please keep in mind that no decisions for the team will be made until the final tryout date has been completed. We ask that no phone calls are made to ask for updates during the first 10 days.
- All players must respond back to offers within 24 hours of receiving notice in order to expedite the process of contacting all players.
- Regardless of ASBA’s decision we will contact everyone who attended a tryout with feedback and a plan of action moving forward.
- Team commitments require a non-refundable deposit at time of commitment.
- Select teams will be based out of 1 of the 3 facilities varying by age group, which takes the
top players regardless of your hometown. Secondary teams will be created out of the other 1 or 2 facilities based on the number of players trying out and ability remaining. Additionally there is an indoor fall league (Ages 8-13) for players to participate in who may not be prepared for travel baseball, cannot make the serious commitment, or cannot afford the travel program.

10u Players: Wed. July 17, 5:00-7:00pm OR Thurs. July 25, 5:30-7:30pm
11u & 12u Players: Thurs. July 18, 5:00-7:30pm OR Fri. July 26, 5:30-8:30pm
13u, 14u, 15u Players: Wed. July 17, 7:00-10:00pm OR Wed. July 24, 6:00-8:30pm
16u, 17u, 18u Players: Fri. July 26, 3:00-5:30pm OR Mon. July 29, 5:30-8:30pm
**All tryouts will be held at ASBA West Chester for Broomall, Downingtown, and West Chester team

League Age: The age cutoff for the Spring of 2014 is May 1. For example, if you turn 11 after May 1, 2014, you are still eligible for league age 10u. Likewise, if you turn 11 before May 1, 2013, you are league age 11u. Please use the chart below to calculate your league age. These league ages are effective starting Fall 2013 Baseball Season.
