On the recommendation of former National Scouting Supervisor Shawn Pender of the Baltimore Orioles, The All Star Baseball Academy began running travel teams in 1998. What started as a single team designed as a scout team has evolved into an entire organization of teams ranging from the ages of 10 through 18. 2008 will mark the 10th year of our team program. Over the past 10 years we have been able to become an integral part of thousands of young boys’ lives. We have also had the honor of coaching some of the upcoming stars in Major League Baseball such as Ryan Zimmerman, BJ & Justin Upton, Mike Costanzo, Chris Lubanski, Taylor Buchholtz and Scott Tyler. Our team program is not about making young boys into MLB superstars. It is about creating an environment in which players can enhance their skills through teamwork and mentoring by our professional staff. We will always strive to create a positive learning atmosphere; one that makes playing the game fun and exciting. Our goal is to challenge each and every player. We pride ourselves on giving all players the opportunity to reach their full baseball potential.
